Organics Recycling
What are “Organics?” Organics Collection Schedule
Organics are any materials that come from nature that can be decomposed, naturally back into nature. The result of decomposed organics can be returned back into nature and the environment. Organics make up approximately 25% of what we put in the trash. Instead of polluting the earth sitting in the landfill or being burned in the incinerator, organic waste is recycled into compost, a valuable resource in landscaping and road construction projects. Recycled Organics are used to replenish soil and reduce soil erosion. Decomposed organics also aide in capturing carbon dioxide for climate protection and help to prevent rain water from contaminating our water resources.

Getting Started
1. Collect your food scraps and food-soiled paper products.
2. Empty your food scraps and food-soiled paper products into the organics cart.
3. Set out your organics cart at the curb for collection. Vintage Waste can make exceptions for your p/u location. Call if you live on a private road, or have a long drive/hilly, senior/handicapped, etc to make special arrangements.
All of the yard waste and organics is now being hauled to RW Farms in Chanhassen. This site is the only one of its kind in the state. This site is located at the University of Minnesota Arboretum 3645 Arboretum Drive Chanhassen, MN 55318.
Helpful hints:
Consider using an ice cream bucket or kitchen scrap bucket to collect scraps in your kitchen. You can also collect your food scraps in paper milk, juice or ice cream cartons.
Collection containers in your home can be lined with a paper bag or compostable bag to help keep it clean.
