Q. Why doesn't Vintage Waste charge a fuel surcharge fee?
A. Being a small company we do not carry the overhead that our large competitors face. We are 100% family owned and operated which also allows us to run cheaper. We operate more fuel efficient collection vehicles that typically get 2 times or more miles to the gallon than the large trucks. Unless fuel surpasses the $6-7 dollar range we have budgeted no sur charge to our clients.

Q. How does the referral program work?
A.
Any existing customer that has your name referred by any new sign-up will receive 1 FREE months of service. So pass our name to a friend, family member or neighbor and have them tell us your name to be eligible. There are no limits to how many people you can refer. Account must be in good standings. Get 12 customers and receive 1 years free, it's that simple. Any person that gets a private road or association to switch 100% to Vintage Waste will also receive a street bonus in which all active accounts on that street will benefit from.

Q. Are your trucks safe for my driveway and how much do they weigh?
How does your service style work?

A.
Vintage currently has 6 trucks in our fleet. 4 of which are based off a pick-up truck frame and weigh between 5,000gvrw and 11,000gvrw. Vintage uses the lightest trucks in the industry possible. We operate a 25 yard rearload packer that these smaller trucks than satelite into when they are full. Our small trucks are quiet, good on fuel and easy on the roads. Our largest truck also does commercial accounts. Our service style is different than most haulers and allows us to pick up extra items/bulk piles from your garage. Most haulers require all items on the curb line for collection but Vintage even services yardwaste and organics from the garage. No other hauler offers all collection from the garage if needed. Vintage also does not charge for drive in service either, some of our competitors charge as much as $5.00 per month.

Q. Why did you start Vintage Waste Systems and how did you choose your name?
A.
Corey and Bill Metcalf bring over 57+ combined years of experience in this industry. We both worked for one of the large competitors and had discussed for years starting our own operation. The garbage business is a safe business because everyone produces waste and it will always be here. We choose the Vintage name because while all of our competitors are moving towards automated collection we are trending back to the service of the old days. Our service is the way things used to be and we will bring that option back to you. Personal service, carts returned neat, someone who has time to say hello and etc.. Our only employee also brings 25+ years of hauling waste experience for a total of 82 combined years.

Q. When I call with a question will I placed on hold?
A.
Not only will a live person answered, it will be one of the owners. We will make every attempt to answer all calls. Please leave us a message if we don't. We will check our messages every hour if we are not in the office or are on the 2nd line.

Q. How often will I receive a bill for service?
A.
All residential accounts will be billed quarterly. Effective Jan. 1st 2010 all existing bi-monthly accounts will be converted over to quarterly bills. Vintage will pre-bill 3 months for service. Bills will be generated on the 1st of the month and will be due by the 20th. Any balances after the 20th are subject to a $5.00 per month late charge. Starting January 1st 2010 Vintage will offer its customers a year pre pay option. This will cover your services from Jan. 1st until Dec 31st. You would be discounted one and one half months of service if you pay ahead. No refunds will be made available unless you move out of our service area. Vintage will not refund if you change providers. Commercial accounts are billed each month.

Q. What things are your company doing to be "Green" and help the environment?
A. All of our trash carts are made from recycled plastics (Eco-cart made from the Cascade Company) and are organic carts are used and reconditioned 35 gallon containers saved from the landfill.  The Organic recycling program has been a huge success with one quarter of our clients signed on to date.  All of our Waste is sent to Hennepin County and is used to make energy, the large companies send most of theirs to the landfills.  Our main route collection vehicles get 2 to three times more miles per gallon then our competition, 4 out of 5 of the routed trucks are a pickup truck chassis.

Q. Is Vintage Waste building up the company quick to make a sale.
Is the company already for sale? Is the company not doing well?

A. No and No and yes we are doing good. In the last year we have been operating we have heard everything imaginable from our competition. Lets just clear up all the rumors and acquisitions right now. Vintage Waste has built this company from scratch and we have all put all lot on the line. We are not for sale and have no immediate plans of being for sale. Vintage Waste has exceeded our 1 year business plans goals and have many more exciting plans for the future. We will continue to offer the best service available at the best price we can offer. Vintage Waste held our prices for all of 2008 and have only increased our rates by $1.00 for 2009. Even with this increase we are $3.00-$5.00 per month cheaper than our competitors. There will be no additional increase for 2009 and if any increase is necessary for 2010 it would not exceed $1.00. Our competition constantly bashes our prices and tells our possible clients that we will continue to raise rates past what people are paying now, this is false and we have proved everyone wrong with our last year behind us now. In this tough economy people are looking for better prices, Vintage Waste has come through and look forward to your business.
